Photograph 1
This photograph was taken in the 500's hallway. This picture is composed of line and shape, positive and negative space, pattern, repetition, and a low point of view. The camera I used to take this picture was my iPhone5 so to control the camera and lighting I clicked on the place in the picture I wanted the camera to focus on. I considered my camera angle when i took this photo; I angled my camera so it was looking up and down the hallway, so I was laying on the ground when I took this and looking up at the ceiling. The technical aspects of this photo were: a fast shutter speed, a large depth of field, and it is in color as opposed to black and white. The lights reflected on the floor increase the tunnel feel created in the photograph.
Photograph 2
This photograph was taken from the window of an airplane. This picture is composed of lines, positive and negative space, pattern, repetition, rhythm, framing, space, and it was taken in color. The camera I used to take this picture was my Iphone5 I clicked on the place in the picture that I wanted the camera to focus on. I was able to consider the framing in this picture. When I took this picture, I intentionally did not include the wing of the airplane or the framing of the airplane window. I showed an interesting point of view which holds the viewers attention; it is a different perspective from what people are accustom to seeing.
Photograph 3
This photograph was taken when I was hiking in the woods with my family. The point of view is looking up at the leaves and branches of a tree. Shape, texture and positive and negative space are all important elements of design in this picture. I took into consideration the framing of the photo when I captured it however I was not able to change the distance from the subject. I think I was able to show an interesting point of view and hold the viewer's attention. The "ants eye" point of view shooting up at the sun creates a silhouette of the leaves and branches of the tree.
Photograph 4
This photograph was taken in the morning from the hotel room we stayed at in New Hampshire. This picture is composed of shape, pattern, texture, repetition, depth of field with a foreground and background, and it is taken in color as opposed to in black and white. To take this photo, I tapped on the part in the photo where the dew on the window was as opposed to where the leaves in the background are. I took this was a fast shutter speed and has a shallow depth of field. I took into consideration the framing of the photo when capturing this photo as well as the distance. Some artistic qualities this picture possesses is a compelling subject matter, as well as a sense of mood or meaning.
Photograph 5
This photograph was taken at the top of a mountain that I hiked up that day. It is a picture of the dead grass blowing in the wind. This picture is composed of line, shape, positive and negative space, pattern, texture, repetition, use of triangles or diagonals, leading lines, depth of field and was taken in color as opposed to black and white. I used my iPhone5 to take this photo so to control the camera and lighting I tapped on the screen to adjust them. I considered the distance and point of view of this picture. I chose to take it close up the base of the long, dead grass and I chose to take the picture looking straight on the grass. One artistic quality this picture possesses is an interesting point of view.
Photograph 6
This photograph was taken in the courtyard of the school. This picture is composed of positive and negative space, rule of thirds, use of diagonals, has foreground, middle ground and background, framing, leading lines, was taken in color as opposed to black and white, and distance. The technical aspects of this picture is that I used a slow shutter speed of about 1/60 of a second on the DSLR camera to take this picture, it has a large depth of field, and was taken in color as opposed to in black and white. The artistic qualities this picture posses was a compelling subject matter and a sense of mood or meaning. It makes the viewer get a sense of serenity and also a sense that the subject is in the picture, but not at the same time.
